FREE COURSE

Change Administrators

  1. Click into your TWEN course and click Manage Course (F)
  2. Click Manage Users
  3. Scroll down To Administrators and click Add
  4. Add by School or Add by E-mail (e-mail must be tied to Academic OnePass)
  5. Click Add
  6. Click Add again

Change Visible E-Mails on Course Home Page

  1. Click into your TWEN course and click Manage Course
  2. Click Manage Users
  3. Click Arrange
  4. Drag Admin names to desired status and click Save
  5. Go to Course Home Page
  6. Click Edit in upper right in Course Information
  7. Click Reset to default course information. Note: This will remove ANY customizations you have made on home page.
  8. Click Save
  9. Option 2: Just use the HTML editor after clicking Edit on home page. Use the hyperlink icon and change type to "mail to" to add e-mails. Just delete others as needed.

I don't see my course in the add course list

If you are an administrator of a course or have already been added to a course, your course will not appear in your add course list.

  1. Go to www.lawschool.westlaw.com/twen and look at your list of active courses
  2. If your course is listed here among active courses, you are all set
  3. If your course is not in the active course list and not on the add course list, check with your professor to determine when the course will be available to add

Remove User from Course

  1. Click into your TWEN course
  2. Click Manage Course(F)
  3. Click Manage Users
  4. Click Remove and then Remove or Ban

My course has disappeared from the active course list

TWEN courses typically have a closing date that puts them into inactive mode.

If you were the administrator of your course:

  1. Go to your course listing on www.lawschool.westlaw.com/twen
  2. Click on the Hidden Courses (inactive/archived) button
  3. Click into your course
  4. Click Manage Course (F)
  5. Click Course Information
  6. Update the start and end dates of your course
  7. Click Save Changes

If you were not the administrator of your course, contact your course administrator with the steps above to reactivate the course.

Guest User

I have a guest user who does not have Academic access who needs access to my course.

For Faculty:

  1. Click into your TWEN course
  2. Click Manage Course (F)
  3. Click Manage Users
  4. Click Create Guest
  5. Select access level
  6. Enter the name and e-mail address of the guest
  7. Click submit and your guest will receive a confirmation shortly and you will get a copy.

Note: If your guest user has an active Active Academic Westlaw password at another school, you may add her via OnePass e-mail address or notify your account manager and they can add user directly to your course.

Wrong Submission in the Assignment Drop Box

Our Customer/Technical Support Reps are not authorized to delete student submissions. You must contact your professor or course proctor with the following steps:

  1. Click into the TWEN course
  2. Click on Grade Book for Assignments & Quizzes
  3. Click on the Enter Grades link for the relevant assignment
  4. Click on the Final link for the student's submission
  5. Click on Delete
  6. Confirm the deletion

TWEN Courses at Other Schools

If you are transferring to or visiting another school:

  1. Contact the library at your new institution to obtain a new Registration Key
  2. Sign out of lawschool.westlaw.com
  3. Go to lawschool.westlaw.com/register
  4. Select Yes
  5. Enter OnePass Credentials
  6. Enter New Registration Key
  7. Log into lawschool.westlaw.com and choose new school
  8. Choose Permanent (unless you are only going to be at new school temporarily)
  9. Complete Registration for Law School
  10. Log in and update your e-mail address using the drop down in upper right corner of the site.

If you are taking a course both at your home school and another school, contact your Westlaw Account Manager with the name of the school, professor and the course you wish to be added to.

Password Protected Course

If you would like to add a password to your TWEN course:

  1. Click into your course
  2. Click Manage Course (F)
  3. Click Course Information
  4. Enter a password in the password blank
  5. Click Save Changes

If you are trying to access a course that is password protected, contact the professor or administrator of that course for more information.

CALI Code

CALI access is a separate subscription. Contact your school administrators or reference desk to obtain your school's CALI code.

Changing My Name

  1. Go to www.onepass.westlaw.com and sign in
  2. Update your name
  3. Click on Submit

Your information will update on lawschool.westlaw.com and TWEN within 24 hours.

Changing Graduation Dates

Contact technical support at 1-800-850-9378, contact a Westlaw Student Representative or contact your Westlaw Account Manager.

Transfer to Different School

  1. Contact the library at your new institution to obtain a new Registration Key
  2. Note: Export Westlaw Folder documents from previous account before transferring account as needed. Contact a Reference Attorney for assistance at 800-850-9378.
  3. Sign out of lawschool.westlaw.com
  4. Go to lawschool.westlaw.com/register
  5. Select Yes
  6. Enter OnePass Credentials
  7. Enter New Registration Key
  8. Log into lawschool.westlaw.com and choose new school
  9. Choose Permanent (unless you are only going to be at new school temporarily)
  10. Complete Registration for Law School
  11. Log in and update your e-mail address using the drop down in upper right corner of the site.

Outside of My Subscription

If it is summer, make sure you have extended your password:

  1. Go to www.lawschool.westlaw.com
  2. Click on the summer registration graphic
  3. Complete the wizard and you should be able to resume access within 24 hours

If it isn't summer, check your graduation date on the left side of the screen near your name. If the graduation date listed has passed or is incorrect: Contact technical support at 1-800-850-9378, contact a Westlaw Student Representative or contact your Westlaw Account Manager.

If neither of the above apply, the content that you are trying to access is likely outside of your school's subscription. Contact your account manager if you have any questions.

Password Extension Bar Exam

If you would like to extend your password in order to prepare for the bar exam:

  1. Within 30 days of graduation, go to lawschool.westlaw.com
  2. Click on the summer extension graphic
  3. Select the graduate extension option and follow the instructions

Please allow 24 hours for the extension to process.

Summer or Grad Elite Password Extension

If you would like to extend your password

  1. Before summer (undergrads) or within 30 days of graduation, log into lawschool.westlaw.com
  2. Click on the extension graphic
  3. Follow instructions
